Bowerbird Games (ABN 22 953 561 603) handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), to the extent they apply. This page explains what is collected and why, in plain terms.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name and email address, and a phone number if you give us one.
- Order details: delivery and billing address, and what you ordered.
- Messages you send through the contact form or by email.
- Basic technical information, such as IP address and browser type, kept in server logs for security.
We don’t store your full card details. Payments are handled by Stripe.
How we use it
- To process and deliver orders, and to answer your questions.
- To send order confirmations and updates.
- To meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations.
- To keep the site secure.
We won’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to process card payments. See Stripe’s own privacy policy.
- Amazon Web Services (SES), which delivers our transactional emails.
- Couriers, so they can deliver your order.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site data.
- Accountants or authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it appropriately.
Cookies and analytics
The shop uses cookies needed for the cart, checkout and login. We don’t use advertising trackers. Any analytics we use are privacy-friendly and don’t build profiles of individual visitors.
Keeping it safe, and how long we keep it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. We keep order records for as long as needed for tax and legal purposes (generally at least five years), then delete or de-identify them.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing finley@bowerbirdgames.com.au. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we’ll respond promptly. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
